why are birds neglected at Cornell Labs Feeders at Sapsucker Woods on weekends?

A variety of wild birds enjoy a hardy hand out year round at Sapsucker Woods Ithaca, NY, except on weekends when the bird seed box is neglected. From Monday to Friday a young lad possibly a student,  trips out around 9:10 AM to refill the various feeders visible on a web cam.

I have been also watching a large number of wild bird feeder cams this year including live nature park web cams. One of the most interesting was the  three Eagle web cams,  better know as the Southwest Florida Eagle Cams (SWFEC),  set up by Dick Pritchett Real Estate in Fort Myers Florida,  monitoring bald eagle pair Harriet and Ozzie since September 2012, and the duo have received 19 million views from 190 countries. http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html

Harriet and Ozzie have been using that nest since 2007 and typically reside there from October to April. It’s located one mile from the Caloosahatchee River in a pine tree 60 feet above ground. Harriet and Ozzie’s (M15)  two eggs hatched just before midnight on Dec. 23 and on the morning of Dec. 25, 2016 one egg failed to hatch, the chick was given the name E9 and it branched 3/6/17 at 6:29am, fledged 3/14/17 at 7:22am and was last seen 5/2/17 at 10:00am. Women were especially enamoured with the young eaglet, adopting it as a family pet, totally forgetting they're wild birds.  There are some hilarious postings on Southwest Florida Eagle Cam forum board

Anyway back to the  FeederWatch camlocated in the Treman Bird Feeding Garden at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Perched on the edge of both Sapsucker Woods and its 10-acre pond, these feeders attract both forest species like chickadees and woodpeckers as well as some species that prefer open environments near water like Red-winged Blackbirds.

I feel sorry for the Feeder at Sapsucker Woods on weekends. The feeder is left snow covered in mid winter and during Spring and Summer, occasionally on a Sunday afternoon one of the staff members might show up with one small scoop of seeds, normally it takes three or four scoops to fill the tray.    Rainy weekends are the worst, soggy seeds and sometimes none at all.

Little or no food on weekends

I did sign up for a few eNewsletters, but for everyone sent, I get six begging for money. I would be happy to give them some loot, if they would feed the birds on weekends as they do during the week.
