What the "Lesbian and Gay Pride Day" was like in Toronto 29 years ago
(1988.) No commercialism and more of community event. In those days,
AIDS was a hot topic. The festival was much smaller than it is today.
The festival name changed from The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transsexual,
and Transgendered Pride Committee of Toronto and Incorporated as a
non-profit (but not a registered charity) in 1995 to simply Pride
Toronto. Perhaps you will recognize old friends and familiar faces in
