In & Out Moving: Toronto Movers nightmare

We chose In & Out Movers because of one of their logos and yelp.ca reviews.  It turned out they are not gay owned. Just use a rainbow gimmick to attract the LGBT community as customers.

One of the two helpers from In & Out saw a dead cockroach and cancel the move this morning (Monday September 18,e 2017), also sent a picture of bed bug on a mattresses we do not own. Unbelievable!

In & Out would not even consider a certificate from Armour Pest Control (Toronto) that our live/work office was sprayed twice in last four weeks including all our furniture. Spraying twice is normal practice.

Did helpers apologize? Well sort, but still refused the move. We found another mover who are not going to hassle us, now going Wed afternoon.

***Footnote: The owner (Jason L.) showed up later in morning that he wanted to apologize. In fact, he was secretly snapping pictures, without our permission, and then sent a text with picture to prove his point (more dead bugs) and in a second text message refused to apologize for coming to our live/work office, under false pretenses.

We do not recommend In & Out Movers. Excessively fussy in not accepting a spray certificate from a very reputable pest control company, is poor business practice.

Response from the owner
Absolutely, we will refuse any job ANY job with ANY type of infestations. We will never infest our truck, our customers' homes, or our own homes. I have a seven-month-old baby, and to me the idea is a nightmare. We are VERY diligent about checking before a move, and very clear during the booking process. We have a zero tolerance for bugs. Even when a client threatens us with a bad review. Even when we have to pay our movers their minimum hours just to walk away. Our customers can be certain of this commitment. (And yes; like he said, other companies are still willing to move him anyways...

As per Jason's comment.... Yo ho ho and bottle of Rum...If your Conrad Black or live in perfect house in Rosedale Jason is your man...Cockroaches have been on the planet for over 300 million years and will be with us for another million years, no matter how often you spray. There is lots movers that accept bug spray certificates. Just as there are companies that want your business and move you without hassles. Go with them.

There is nothing on Jason's website (In & Out Moving) about infestations.

He should be up front on the website. If you have had bed bugs or cockroaches in the past.  I will not move you, no matter how dead they are now.

We are sure he sprays his trucks twice a week for pests, just as other large Toronto moving companies do. He just won't admit it.

The whole Infestation shtick is just a gimmick,  to set his company apart from the rest and your fear of bugs. In & Out Moving services are no different than other large movers in Toronto.

Take with a grain of salt remarks about his kids or his employees losing a few shekels.

FOOTNOTE Thursday Sept 21/17

Tom Trucker Movers moved us with only three days notice on Wed Sept 20 at 3 pm. Don't be drawn in fancy black T-shirts and ball cap uniforms and Rainbow logos., It's meaningless.. Tom Trucker arrived in a 16 foot truck, ladened in graffiti

Everything was ready to go in Toronto Brockton Village, with 20 eco plastic boxes from City Boxes, 2nd floor 16 stairs to street and all our furniture. T.T. showed up with two movers, who asked no questions, but were fast, efficient and courteous and had our bachelor live/work office in the truck in 20 minutes.

After a short drive to Parkdale, up the elevator to our studio apartment. Truck was unloaded and everything in our place in under two hours, with no breaks. Since they have a two hour minimum $250 + HST we paid that and gave each of the boys a $20 tip. We recommend Tom Trucker and would use them again.

Are there Bugs at our new place since we moved in, absolutely not! Thank you Armour Pest Control.
